Holy Family Parish will be hosting a Lenten educational series: “The Creed,” six Thursdays during Lent, March 3 through April 7, from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. It is a film series of six DVDs with some discussion to follow. Bishop Robert Barron will guide us into the depths of the Nicene Creed, a fourth-century statement of faith that has profoundly influenced Christian spirituality, theology, and liturgy. The series is free.
The keys that unlock the beliefs of the Christian Faith are stated succinctly in the Nicene Creed, which we profess along with most Christians around the world. Words that roll off our tongues easily, but are often not fully understood, define our Faith. One of the Church's leading thinkers, Bishop Barron, invites skeptics and seekers to discover the intellectual richness of the Catholic faith. Walking through the ancient Nicene Creed, he offers a clear and compelling explanation of the basics of the faith for a new generation, especially those who have wandered away.
There is no book for this program. If anyone would like to bring some light refreshments, we will have a “social hour” and discuss what we have learned. These sessions will be held at the Little Falls Library on the following dates: March 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st, and April 7th. There is a sign-up sheet in the back of the church or call the Parish Office at (315) 823-3410. Please join us!
