Christmas is the ultimate story of conversion; God became man. By His sanctifying grace we become more like God. As we approach the feast of God’s Incarnation, I encourage you to make a good and humble Confession, especially if it has been a while. One of the precepts of the Church is to confess your sins at least once a year even if you are unaware of any grave sin. We should repent of anything that is not pleasing to Jesus. On Thursday, December 22nd, from 2:30 - 4 p.m. four priests will be available to hear individual Confessions. This will not be a formal penance service, but will take place in the context of Eucharistic Adoration.
If you are a shut-in, I am more than happy to come to your house to hear your Confession. Please call or e-mail the Parish Office and I will come as soon as possible. Other Confession times can be found in the weekly bulletin and on website.
As we celebrate the Feast of the Lord’s Nativity, I hope to see you at one of the following Masses:
Christmas Eve
Saturday, December 24th
Holy Family 4 p.m.
St. Joseph 6 p.m.
Christmas Day
Sunday, December 25th
Holy Family (Novus Ordo) 9 a.m.
Holy Family (Usus Antiquior) 10:30 a.m.
Come celebrate our Patronal Feast! Feast of the Holy Family - Friday, December 30th at 5 p.m. Mass at Holy Family. Holy Hour from 4 - 4:55 p.m. There will be a potluck dinner to follow in Parish Hall. All parishioners and friends of the Parish are encouraged to come together to thank the Holy Family for their heavenly aid this year. Please bring a dish to pass.
Be assured of my prayers for you and your loved ones this Christmas Season.
Sincerely yours in Christ, Fr. Slezak
