Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, This is our present Festival; it is this which we are celebrating today, the Coming of God to Man, that we might go forth, or rather that we might go back to God –
"Populus qui ambulabat in tenebris, vidit lucem magnam; habitantibus in regione umbrae mortis lux orta est eis." "The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; upon those who dwelt in...
Holy Family Parish is blessed to have such beautiful, historic, and one-of-a-kind stained-glass windows in our church. Author Louis Baum spent countless hours over several years researching and writing a book describing the story of each window. Both Louis and Jean Ronan (who assisted in the project) have graciously donated all their time and efforts to complete this book project. The book will be available at all Masses to view this weekend (Feb 18th-19th) and next weekend (Feb 25th-26th). Now that the book has been completed, the parish is offering it for purchase for only $20 each (to cover cost). Upon receiving your prepayment, we will order the books. Order forms are available in church or by calling/visiting the Parish Office. Please enclose payment with your order. Order soon! (We plan to place the first book order on March 6th.) Upon arrival of the books, we will notify you.

Holy Family Parish and St. Joseph Church will give out blessed “Chalking the door" kits this weekend at Mass. This is a wonderful way to celebrate and literally mark the occasion of the Epiphany and God’s blessing of our lives and home.
A potluck will follow mass in the Parish Gym. Please bring a dish to pass. The Usus Antiquior community of the Albany Diocese will join us at Holy Family to offer prayers for Pope Benedict XVI in gratitude for all he did to promote the sacred liturgy. The title of the Mass comes from the words of the Introit (opening antiphon) Requiem æternam dona eis Domine. Eternal rest grant unto him/her, O Lord. Requiem Masses are offered for the repose of the soul of the deceased.
Father Slezak will be blessing any religious articles you would like blessed on the last Sunday (excluding December) of each month. There will be a table set up in church to place your articles on and he will bless them between the Novus Ordo and Usus Antiquior Masses.
